Vacant Home Fire

Just after 6:00am on November 22, 2016, Ashburn and other stations responded for a structure fire near Belmont Ridge Road and Gloucester Parkway. The house was abandoned. Dry and windy conditions allowed some small spots of brush to be ignited, which crews quickly extinguished.  Due to the advanced state of the fire and deteriorated conditions inside the home, crews initiated a defensive fire attack from outside the home.  A significant collapse of the structure made any interior entry unsafe for firefighters.   The fire was extinguished approximately twenty minutes after initial fire and rescue crews arrived although they remained on scene for two hours extinguishing [...]

Truck 6 on 2 Car Crash with Extrication

At approximately 1810 hours on October 28th, Truck Co 6 came across a 2 car crash with entrapment along Ashburn Rd.  Truck 6 called for the rest of the assignment, stabilized the vehicle, and had the patient extricated within 5 minutes. Units: T606, E623, A623, EMS601,  BC601, A606, M622

Garage Fire on Bristow Circle

At approximately 11:08 hours on Sunday, October 23, 2016, 1st Battalion units were dispatched for a dwelling fire in the 44100 block of Bristow Circle in Ashburn, VA.  Initial units arrived to find a 2 story, single family dwelling with fire showing from the garage.  Engine 606 grabbed their own plug at the end of the cul-de-sac and stretched to the attached garage.  Truck 606 split their crew with the officer and bar man making entry, searching, and checking for extension from the garage area into the kitchen area while the outside crew threw ladders and opened up in the garage.  Engine 622 grabbed a second plug and stretched the 2nd [...]

Single Vehicle Rollover on Gloucester

Shortly after midnight last night, Truck Company 6 and Medic 6 were dispatched and first arriving to an accident with rollover/injury on Gloucester Parkway. Three passengers in the car were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Engine 6 was later added to secure a landing zone for AirCare 3 for a patient fly-out. Strong work from the crew on services rendered!             

House Fire at Augusta and Backwater Drive in Sterling

Truck Company 6 was dispatched to Augusta and Backwater Dr. in Sterling for the reported dwelling fire on October 5, 2016.  Initial units arrived on scene to find a 2-story single family dwelling with fire showing from the garage, with extension into the 2nd floor and attic. Tower 6 arrived and was tasked with opening up the 2nd floor and attic space for the engine crews.  All fire was extinguished and units  were held for extension overhaul. Auto Accident with Extrication

At 2040hrs units were alerted to Waxpool Rd and Ashburn Village Blvd (23 box) for the auto accident with one trapped. Truck Company 6 (Capt.Madden) responded on the run with 4 men. Engine Co. 23 arrived on-scene confirming initial reports of one small SUV on its side with one trapped. Truck Co. 6 arrived on-scene~ stabilized the vehicle and flapped the roof. Arrival-time-to-extrication was approx. 17 mins. Patient was transported by Medic 23 with non life-threatening injuries. Truck Company 6 cleared the scene within an hour. Special thanks to Virginia State Police for allowing us to borrow a vehicle during the incident. Units: T6

Entrapment Hay/Claiborne

Shift change approximately 6pm~ E6~ T6~ and M6 were punched out for accident with possible entrapment at the intersection of Hay and Claiborne. E6 arrived to find a two car crash with one on its side and the occupant within. E6' crew worked on stabilization of vehicle number 1. Truck Co 6 arrived an handled car 2. Patient was extricated within 12 mins of arrival. Units were held out approximately 40 mins.

Two Back-to-Back Fires in Company 1's Area

Fire showing from a two single family dwelling. Around 04:38 AM units from Ashburn were dispatched to Company 1'a area for a reported house fire. Units from Leesburg marked on the scene with fire showing from a two single family dwelling. Reserve engine 6 was dispatched as second due engine but due to Leesburg dumping the house Engine 6 arrived fourth due and assumed RIT duties. As units were making a knock on the fire tower ladder 6 was requested due to a unit getting out understaffed, command also requested 2 additional engine companies to assist.
