According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children age 3 to 6 and 8 to 14. While most parents and caregivers believe their car seats and booster seats are installed correctly, research shows that seven out of 10 children are improperly restrained.
Car seat inspections are available at AVFRD Stations 6 and 22 by appointment only. Call between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to schedule an appointment.
Technicians need approximately 15 minutes to complete an inspection.
